On Wednesday 10th February we celebrated our first ever Carnival Day! Throughout the day, lessons were dedicated to the ‘Carnival’ theme and students got to explore various activities including, mask making in Art, folk tales in Drama, pop-up scenes in Technology and many other exciting activities. At the end of the day, students gathered outside for a ‘Finale’ performance, led by Music, Drama and Dance performers. Competitions were held for Carnival themed poetry and mask decoration. It was an enjoyable day for all involved and a wonderful end to a very creative term!
The students really enjoyed their day. According to Abi, "It was a great day! We spent the morning making masks and posters."
Both Amgad and Numair played the part of the giant during the morning's drama lesson. Each group performed their section of the folk tale to the whole school during the afternoon performance.
Anjelina enjoyed the dance performance and Numair talked about how everyone sang songs like Charley Marley and Three Little Birds.
Rodeasha, who was one of the winners in the mask competition said, "Everyone was talking about the day after school, saying it was the best day ever!"
