This is designed to deepen and broaden the students' learning beyond the classroom, to meet like-minded young people and to encourage applications to top higher education courses and establishments.
We are delighted to introduce the Silver Programme that we are rolling out to those Year 8 students who came into Maiden School in Reading with a level 6 in either Maths or English and the Year 7 students who achieved highly in the Key Stage 2 Maths and Reading tests. This is one strand of our provision for the Most Able students in the school.

We will be holding workshops over the course of the remainder of the school year, which will enable these students to be challenged beyond the classroom and enable them to reach their highest academic potential.

We have come to the end of a very successful Silver Programme. All of our students have worked conscientiously and have enjoyed taking part in this scheme.
The sessions have been very enriching offering plenty of opportunities for the students to broaden their knowledge and to stimulate their minds.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those teachers involved in making this programme so successful. They have given up their free time to share their interests, knowledge and expertise, to provide the students with another extremely rewarding extracurricular activity.
