On July 12th 2016 Maiden Erlegh School in Reading commissioned an independent external review of the school. The review was led by Mr P Barnes, National Leader of Education and an experienced OFSTED inspector. He was assisted by Mrs E Pilgrim, Senior school leader and Director of the Oakgrove Teaching School Consortium.
The reviewers spent the day in the school, speaking to staff, students, leaders and governors observed a number lessons and reviewed student work. They examined our processes and our performance data in order to write a report identifying our strengths and areas for development. Whilst not a formal OFSTED inspection, the reviewers used OFSTED inspection criteria and focus areas to inform their feedback to the school.
We were absolutely delighted that the review identified the very many strengths of our school. Students are making great progress and enjoying their time at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading. Lessons were judged to be engaging and our care and support of the students was highly commended.
A summary of the report can be found here.
