Chair of Governors is honoured by the Queen

The Chair of the Maiden Erlegh School in Reading Local Advisory Body (Governors), Mr Ian May, has been recognised for his many years of selfless service to the community by being presented with a British Empire Medal during the Queen's Birthday Honours. Ian has been a school governor for many years, is a Trustee of the Maiden Eregh Trust and has been a key figure in the development and opening of our new school. He fulfils this important role in our school alongside other voluntary work in Scouting and a very demanding job at the University of Reading where he is head of building maintenance. We are very proud of Ian and are very fortunate to have such an enthusiatic and experienced Chairperson to guide the development of the governance of the school. Many congratulations Ian we know that this honour is well deserved.
