On Tuesday 17th January we were delighted to welcome Mark Robinson to our school. Mark is currently coach to the England Women's Cricket team and he is working with that team in preparation for the ICC Women's World Cup competition which will be held in this country during June and July.
The day began with an assembly, led by Mark, in which he gave the students a brief summary of his own sporting career as a professional cricketer. He shared an inspirational video of the England Women's team going from the depths of despair after losing last year's World Cup semi-final to absolute triumph after their One Day International victories at the end of the 2016 season. Mark went on to encourage our students to follow their own dreams by working hard and always trying to make good choices.
For the rest of the morning Mark spent time mentoring small groups of students and then to everyone's delight took a practical coaching session in the sports hall.
