Local MP tours new school

Peter Thomas headteacher said  "We were delighted to show Rob Wilson around Maiden Erlegh School in Reading's brand new building which is nearing completion.

In just a few weeks we will be moving into the new building. I know that pupils, parents and staff are really looking forward to it. I would like to acknowledge everyone's patience, but it will have been worth it when  we have a purpose built school fit for the 21st century.

We were all struck on the tour yesterday by the  contemporary feel to the design and just how light and airy it is. We were particularly impressed by the huge sports hall which is now in use for the school and will shortly be available for use by the community.

We will be having an open evening in December for our parents and pupils to tour their new school. This will be just after our official opening at the start of December when Rob Wilson will be our Guest of Honour. This is most fitting because Rob has been with us, and has supported us throughout our journey over the last few years."
