On 2nd May, sixth formers from our sister school, Maiden Erlegh, Wokingham, came to our school and gave an assembly on mental health. The nine sixth formers had prepared a wonderful assembly for us and it was enjoyable and engaging.
After the assembly, the tutor reps chose one or two sixth formers to come to their tutor rooms with them. We then had an opportunity to ask them questions about their previous and present school life.
A bit more on mental health… Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. The sixth formers gave us some sensible advice to help us de-stress when necessary and to make sure we are healthy emotionally as well as physically. We are very grateful to them for giving up their time to do so.
