The conference was organised by Interclimate Network and mirrored the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Conferences of the Parties (COP). Students from five local schools took part. The students became the delegates for Australia, Japan, The Maldives, and South Africa and had prepared, in advance, a statement to present to the conference which outlined their country's stance on climate change. Later in the afternoon they investigated ideas about what actions could be taken locally to cut carbon.
This was a stimulating and challenging event which made our students think on their feet. They rose to the occasion magnificently!
