We are excited to announce that on Wednesday 8th June, a number of Year 7 students from Maiden Erlegh School in Reading will spend the day at the University of Reading’s ArtLab. They will be collaborating, with our friends at the University, to produce artwork for the International Space Station. Students will meet with university astrophysicists who will give a talk on the workings of the international space station, which will inform the work they create. They will be given the opportunity to explore new 3D processes and present their designs. It is planned that successful designs will be sent to the astronaut Tim Peake, who will be able to use a 3D printer to print the artwork when up in space – Wow! This is a tremendous opportunity and we look forward to sharing more about the project after June 8th.
If you have a child in Year 5 and you are considering which Secondary School they should attend from September 2018, please join us at our Open Evening on Monday 10th July.
