Year 11 Results - Statement from Will Graham, Headteacher

On behalf of our school community at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading, I want to offer my congratulations to our students who received their public examination results today.

These results mark the culmination of years of study and hard work, and I am so pleased that so many of our students have received appropriate recognition for their efforts.

Some of our stand-out performers include:

• Arpan: 2 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s
• Au M: 6 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and 1 Level 2 Distinction*
• John O: 4 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 3 Grade 7s
• Mohammed A: 5 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s

Our students should be especially proud of their achievements given the exceptional circumstances this year group has faced in recent years; they deserve praise for the resilience and commitment they have shown in response to the significant interruptions to their education throughout the covid pandemic.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank the staff team for their hard work and commitment to supporting our students towards their success.

Finally, I would like to wish all of our students well in embarking on their next steps, whether that be in their next school, college or training placement.
